Higher Levels

More Reading and Writing...

Students above CEFR level A2 often like to improve their reading and writing skills. This requiers more vocabulary, grammar and spelling.

Concerning these last three subjects:

- Higher level vocabulary contains less frequently used words, more formal words and words used in

   written language.

- Grammar for higher level students gets more difficult. (Yes, even more difficult!)

- Spelling can be a problem for those who don't hear the difference between different Dutch sounds that are

quite close, so those students can have more sound discrimination exercises.

We'll start reading stories, literature, newspaper articles, as well as study texts from your textbook.

We'll start writing complex sentences and texts like letters and essays.

"Micha really takes any and all opportunity to turn anything into a lesson."

"Micha is

one of the best teachers

I had in my life!!!"

 - Paula D.S. (Portugal)

...While Not Forgetting Listening and Speaking

Still, if you're not a beginner anymore, you'll probably want to improve your listening and speaking abilities as well.

Listening tasks are more realistic. Dialogues have a higher tempo. Conversations deal with more abstract matters.

Speaking exercises on a higher level are more complex and demanding than on the basic level. More attention needs to be payed to formal correctness on top of succesful communication.

We'll strive for speaking more fluently and with a better pronunciation.
